LINK Employee Professional and Personal Development Program

LINK Employee Professional and Personal Development Program provides the conditions for the development of LINK Educational Alliance employees in Business Support and Professional Education segments, as well as teachers and associates within the formal education segment at the level of K–12 schools and higher education institutions.

The program encompasses:

  • discovering the talents with a great potential for development among LINK edu Alliance employees, especially K–12 and HEI teachers and associates (interviews, recommendations, MBTI tests, benchmarks);
  • stimulating employee development with the business support and professional development segments, within all sectors of LINKgroup, including K–12 and HEI teachers and associates, through mentorship, instruction, vertical and horizontal mobility inside the business segments, as well as throughout LINKgroup;
  • individual and organizational counseling, i.e. career management for all employees;
  • recognizing talents among master and doctoral students at FCA and master vocational students at ITS and other schools;
  • discovering the talent pool among employees within formal education institutions who would be interested and functional for parallel career development in academia and at the corporate level, and vice versa;
  • creating various development programs for K–12 and HEI teachers in cooperation with the Institute for Contemporary Education (workshops, DL);
  • proposing studies and formal and informal education programs to individual employees where the following conditions are met: individually expressed wish for career development, high development potential and organizational needs;
  • scholarships for master studies and doctoral studies in art at FCA for interested employees whose individual needs match the organizational needs, as well as for those outside of the system who are a part of, or would like to become a part of K–12 and HEI segment;
  • proposing new positions and job descriptions in consultation with employees (analysis and articulation of suggestions) and updating the existing ones;
  • proposing new positions, programs and processes in accordance with global trends and best practices;
  • facilitating transitions, successions, vertical and horizontal movement of employees through the group (pointing out the obstacles);
  • empowering employees with high development potential who would be interested in employment in other parts of LINKgroup through additional engagement.

The project will be carried out by LINK edu Alliance Presidential Cabinet.

The persons in charge of the realization of this project are at the highest leadership positions at the company, which gives this project top importance: the director for K–12 schools and the HEI director, the BS director, the general manager, the president of LINK edu Alliance, the director of LINK innovations.

  • The success of the program requires an active role of employees in creating their personal career.
  • It also requires a proactive role of the directors of institutions and business segments, who must act as career managers for the employees. 
  • It requires organizational development (new development projects, strategies, jobs, services etc.).
  • There must be managers-trainers (career counselors) with HR function, who will ensure the articulation of employees’ career wishes, and career planning.

Career Counselor as part of Presidential Cabinet Staff

Career Counselor cares for the employees’ organizational and individual careers, as a part of Presidential Cabinet Staff.

Duties and responsibilities of Career Counselor

  • Transfers knowledge about the organization to employees.
  • Clarifies the organizational structure and job descriptions, i.e. requirements.
  • Explains trends, organizational reality, and the organization’s needs and limitations.
  • Points out alternative directions for career development within the system.
  • Consults with directors of formal institutions, K–12 and HEI director, the dean in the realm of career development of employees in this segment, as well as the president of LINK edu Alliance and the director of Business Support and other segments of the group.
  • Creates employee development plans (organizational plans).
  • Helps employees create individual development and career management plans.
  • Perceives the organizational needs and, through internal recruitment, suggests candidates for open positions within different business segments.
  • Based on the recognized potential and ambitions of the employees, also suggests the introduction of new positions or services within LINK edu Alliance, consulting with the company president and the members of the Presidential Cabinet.
  • Finds a mentor or an instructor who will help employees realize their individual career goals within LINK edu Alliance (when they are realistic and where organizational reality is such that the concrete employee’s ambition should be stimulated).
  • Prepares employees for succession and rotation processes.
